Our Heritage

Training Mate was born on the shores of Australia, tested on the rugby field and refined in Los Angeles.

At our core is the Australian way of life. A seamless balance of work and play. Because what's the point in working hard, if you never get to share the spoils with the people you love?

Group fitness can be a daunting place. The work comes easy, the play can be a little harder to find. We saw an opportunity to change that.

Yes, our workouts get results, but more importantly we have fun doing them. Our community is rooted in mateship. Our workouts are designed so you'll never go it alone. Our coaches will meet you where you're at and push you when you need, all with a healthy dose of humor.

49% fitness. 51% social. That's our recipe for success. It's helped us stand out from the crowd for 10 years, and we can't wait for you to experience it in person.

we don't take ourselves
too seriously.

we believe in
mateship

In being there for your mate in the good times,

the bad times,

and the in-between times.

We believe that no matter how hard something is,

it's easier with a mate by your side.

And the best results are achieved through encouragement and positivity.

By building others up not tearing them down.

By seeing them and meeting them where they are to drive them forward.

By never giving up on them.

Being a good mate is who we are and what sets us apart from the rest.

luke milton,
founder

When our founder, Luke Milton, retired from professional rugby he realized he didn't miss the game. He missed the team, the camaraderie and having a beer after practice with his mates. It was never just about the sport, it was about the lifestyle and sense of community. Unable to find that replicated anywhere else, Luke decided to create it himself and founded Training Mate in West Hollywood in 2013. While teaching classes is still his favorite thing to do, he also works as a celebrity trainer and was featured on Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian.
